Dear CAGK members and friends,
Happy Chinese New Year of Rat to you and your families!
By now most of you probably already heard that the worst snowstorm in decades ravaged most of Central and Southern parts of China. The conditions in the affected areas were exceptionally severe after being hit by the snowstorm. While we are celebrating the Spring Festival and enjoying the happy time with our families and friends, we may also consider those who are in suffering from the snowstorm.
We encourage you to follow your own burden and act accordingly. The decision is yours. Please find all detailed information from the Red Cross website

2/07/08 Chinese New Year Celebration
tickets available at the restaurants and the Loy Norrix High School |

The mail registration has ended. To satisfy the last minute interests, tickets will be available at both Stir Max and King Wok Restaurants from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 9. Tickets will also be available at the Thomas R. KasDorf Auditorium, Loy Norrix
High School from 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm prior to the celebration. |

Moon Festival Celebration Photos |

Celebration. The photos of this event have been posted on our

Moon Festival Celebration |
|
CAGK’s annual mid-autumn festival will be held at the
Portage West
Middle School in the evening of September 29, 2007. The party will begin
at 7:00 p.m. It will be free for the member and $5 for adult and $3 for
children (ages 3-12) without the membership. In addition to moon cake
and other snacks, there will be performances by the two Chinese schools
and Karaoke. Come celebrate with your friends.

Kalamazoo Diversity Celebration |

The Chinese Lion Dance
Troupe, The Great Wall Song & Dance Ensemble, the Cathay Performing Arts Group of Kalamazoo
and Dai Dance Group will perform at

Fontana Chamber Arts- Ying Quartet |

Yings have been to Kalamazoo a few times now, however, this upcoming
program will be different than any they've done before in Kalamazoo.
Saxophonist/composer Patrick Zimmerli and percussionist Satoshi
Takeishi will join the Yings for a "classical meets jazz" concert.

The Chinese New Year
dinner and program tickets were mailed out.
If you have not received your tickets, please contact James at (269)
353-9870. Unlike last year, no CAGK board
member will be at the restaurants to hand out tickets.
You need the tickets to dine in the designed restaurant (it is
specified on your ticket) and to participate
the program. If you lose your tickets,
please contact James before 02/14/2007 so that we can reissue the
tickets.
Al lost tickets will be rejected by the restaurants.
